The Public is Warned against the Increasing US Diversity Visa Scams

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

The US Immigration authorities issued a warning against the growing number of attempts to scam people involving the US Diversity Visa Lottery Program.

US Diversity Visa Lottery Program Scam Alert

The US Diversity Immigrant Visa program is a congressionally-mandated annual lottery program for receiving a United States Permanent Resident Card or Green card. It is also known as Green Card Lottery. The program annually grants permanent resident visas to persons from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.

Scammers are sending fraudulent emails and letters to Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) program (Visa Lottery) applicants, posing as authorized US State personnel, in an attempt to extract payment.

In an advisory, the US Embassy in Manila warned Filipinos and the public in general about this US Diversity Visa Scam and other visa scams. First of all, the Philippines is ineligible of the said program. And the DV lottery program is free.

One form of the US Diversity Visa scam e-mail instructs recipients to send money via Western Union to a fictitious person supposed to be working at the US Embassy in London. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should money be sent to ANY address to participate in the DV lottery.

The embassy is advising people applying for US visas to be cautious before deciding to send by e-mail their personal and financial information. Verify first with the authorities to avoid being victimized by scammers and identity thieves.

2 Million New US Jobs This Year

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

After the relatively good news about the increase of Canadian jobs, here's another positive news. There's one economist that sees the US economy adding two million new US jobs in 2011.

2 Million New US Jobs in 2011

Scott Brown, said to be the most accurate forecaster of jobless rate in the past two years, sees the increased consumer spending will factor primarily in generating two million new US jobs.

In other words, Americans should spend more in order for businesses to notice the demand for their products which in turn will convince them to add more jobs. Proof of the increased consumer spending were the increased gate attendance on Disney theme parks and increased advertising in cable networks. I'm sure the Super Bowl helped.

This may sound advocating materialism, but I realized seasonal spending, like in this upcoming valentines, has its own positive effect. I am a sportsfan myself and I think that the line-up of upcoming big sporting events such as the March Madness & the NBA finals, can contribute to increase advertising revenues and sale of sport merchandize.

I hope that Scott Brown would be right about the two million new US jobs which I think the other economists would'nt mind being wrong about.

EB-5 Immigrant Investor program | Investing not just for Money but for US Citizenship

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Since 1990, investors have the chance to facilitate their entry to the US via the EB-5 Immigrant Investor program. A big headstart to obtain that all important US citizenship.

Simply put, the US government are enticing investors to put their money into the US economy not only for direct profit but the great opportunity to become citizens. Now more than ever, the US need an infusion of investments to the country to generate more jobs.

A businessman can enter the US through the EB-5 program if he/she will invest on a new business creating at least 10 jobs or save a struggling one. He or she and immediate family can then apply for a green card and be conditional permanent residents. After 5 years, they can apply for citizenship.

As close as calling it as "buying your US citizenship", the price of investment starts at $500,000 for regional centers. And there are 3,000 investor visas set aside for these regional centers. Of course, there are still other qualifications to meet. The fact that it is by way of investing in a business, there obviously lies the responsibility of keeping the business afloat for the next two years at least.

But by then, those investors not only have a continuing business but a foot on the door of becoming full-pledge Americans. For more information on the EB-5 immigrant investor program, click here.

Labor Day 2010, President Obama's Jobs Program & Future In Demand Jobs

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

On the occasion of the Labor day, American workers and employees should pause and remember those that paved the way for what they enjoy now - work holidays, off days, eight-hour job, insurance, pension and other benefits.

It is imperative that part of this holiday be set aside for its real purpose before the picnicking and football that has now become the norm.

In related news, President Barack Obana announced today his job-creation program to address the high demand for jobs pending support of Congress. Now more than ever, the government and Congress should set aside politics & election, and work together to create jobs for American workers.

If the President's plan - $50 billion infrastructure rebuilding plan - will push through, construction jobs and related positions will be in demand in the next 12 months.
