In a report, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that 62, 156 job vacancies were posted at the Philippine government's official job portal, PHIL-JobNet as of February 14 of this year.
In these over 60, 000 job vacancies posted, there were 20 positions considered to be high demand jobs. 17 of these top 20 are for local employment and 3 high demand positions are for overseas deployment.
The three high demand overseas jobs posted on that job portal are domestic helpers (350), nurses (200) and mechanical engineers (117)
Vacancies for machinists, accounting clerks, customer service assistants, welders and electrical machine operators are the top 5 local high demand jobs, each with a thousand or more posted vacancies.

Well, the Phil-job.net portal is another website to go to when looking for high demand jobs online.

Industrial meat cutters are in high-demand in Canada. That's what the POEA revealed when I looked for approved job orders for Canada as of today Feb 11, 2011 Manila time.
A quick check from the POEA website today to inquire about jobs in Canada revealed that there are 49 Job orders for Food Counter Attendants approved on January 27, 2011 to be deployed to Canada.
A food counter attendant is a general term for workers in the food industry. Basically, they take and serve orders of customers/patrons. They are employed in restaurants, hotels, bars, taverns, private clubs, banquet halls and similar establishments.
