Overseas Employment Certificate or Exit Permit Processing in SM Supermalls

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Vacationing OFWs can now have their overseas employment certificates or exit permits get processed at the Global Pinoy Centers inside the convenience of both SM Mall of Asia & The Block SM North Edsa.

As part of POEA's Pamaskong Handog for OFWs, offsite processing of oecs or exit permits, OWWA membership and Philhealth for OFWs who returned to the Philippines in time for the holidays can be done inside the malls mentioned above. This project started today December 15, 2010 and will end on January 15, 2011.

OFWs from countries with exising deployment bans will not be allowed to get their documents processed in these offsite centers and will need to proceed to the POEA main office in Ortigas.

This is welcome news for OFWs and their families as their short vacation wont be shortened by at least a day just to abide by their document requirements. OFWs now have the option to go malling with their families while taking care of their documents on the side.

The Global Pinoy centers in SM Supermalls are specifically set up to cater to overseas Filipino workers in recognition and appreciation of their sacrifice to uplift their families condition and the country as well.

This blog hopes that offsite centers for OFW document processing be increased and be made permanent for their benefit and convenience. After all, they are prime movers of the country's economy.
